North Country Scenic Trail Click Here

Forty-six miles of the 4,600 mile National Scenic Trail is in Harbor Springs and Pleasant View Township. The trail is the longest national scenic trail that offers year round recreation opportunities. The trail starts in New York and ends in North Dakota. If there is an emergency, call 911. The Tri-County organization is a source for information for disaster preparations, notifications, and training. Create a BE ALERT account for local alerts. A Smart911 account is geared to give first responders valuable information in an emergency. Visit the The Emmet County Recycling Center for information about waste disposal, recycling, composting, and shredding. You can also make appointments for disposing of paints and other caustic items. The website lists items that are, and are NOT recyclable. Not all plastic is recyclable. Pizza boxes are generally difficult to, or are not recyclable, particularly when grease and cheese have stained the cardboard. So, let’s put waste in the right place so the Center can continue keeping our community clean!
